We all know that indoor plants have really become a thing over the past year or so. This is one of those fads that should be here to stay. They look great in a home and if you are able to dig a little deeper you will find that the benefits are even greater than the appearance.
We have all felt that feeling of walking into the lowe’s plant department and having a subtle breathe of fresh air and soothingness fall over us. This is what having plants in the home does. It helps you feel grounded and tranquil this in return reduces stress.
There have been a few studies that have shown that having indoor plant landscaping has a dramatic affect on the wellbeing of the occupants in the building.
Improving air quality
Think of it this way a plants job is to convert CO2 into Oxygen. So by having plants indoors it does a few things.
Reduces Carbon levels
Reduces levels of certain pollutants
Reduces airborne dust levels
Keeps air temperature lower
All of these things are great for the air and wellbeing of your home.
Lowering background noise
This is not common knowledge for most. However, plants truly reduce the amount of background noise. Plants have been used for a long time to reduces the noise of traffic on roads and highways. A study done by Peter Costa at South Bank University in London, showed two things plants not only absorb, refract, or reflect background noise. Also, that certain plants are even better at absorbing higher frequencies.
These are only a few of the many reasons indoor plants are beneficial. I have found these reason alone are good enough for me! Let me know what you think!
